Getting Gaga Gorgeous for Halloween

Our resident Lady Gaga specialist (yes that’s what her official title is) dressed up in the spirit of Halloween and performed for an incredibly lively crowd of 950 people at Southlake Hospital’s annual gala fundraiser at Le Jardin in Woodbridge, ON. Performing Gaga’s biggest hits, Gaga Gorgeous entertained the crowd with two wild outfits, hair worn in Gaga’s signature styles and gaga-esque moves.

EBE would like to thank Arden and the Tourists and the Southlake Foundation for making us part of this awesome event!

Styling Canada Sings’ “Airborne 11″

Electric Blonde Entertainment had the opportunity to work with Airborne 11, Air Canada’s winning Glee club on Canada Sings. The boys were asked to perform at Air Canada’s chairty event, Dreams take flight, on October 20th at the Hilton Garden Inn in Vaughan, ON. But the guys needed costumes?! And that’s where we stepped in, EBE’s Lynzie Kent and Alysha Greco styled the guys to perfection, aiming for a retro chic, top gun inspired look- complete with aviators!

The coolest thing about Airbourne 11 is that the guys do this for charity! It all started out on Canada Sings where they won $10,000 for Ronald McDonald House, and since then they have been getting booked to perform all over the city. The guys don’t make a dime- they use their booking fee to continue to support Ronald McDonald House and just have a fantastic time performing! Here are some photos from the October 20th performance, and below is their infamous Canada Sings performance!

Owl Wedding Inspiration Sneak Peek

Here is a little sneak peek of the place cards designed by Kendall Kent from Beat & Path Designs. She designed the invitation suite and all the paper goods for Electric Blonde’s upcoming owl themed inspiration shoot. We’ll be working with some amazing vendors like Elizabeth Kaye Photography, Roots Floral and Event Design and The Caketress. Stay tuned!

Blue Ombre Party Cake

There have been so many beautiful images of Ombre Cakes floating around the blogosphere lately and I’ve been dying to make one. My friend James’ birthday was coming up and it was the perfect time to give it a go! Here is how it turned out.

For the candle holders I was inspired by THIS post from The Sweetest Occasion.

My husband and I have been eating this cake for days now and its delish. Hope you enjoyed the pics!

Electric Inspiration #2

My lovely friends Julie and Kyle are getting married in December and I will be singing at their ceremony. But recently, Julie asked for a little help brainstorming some crafty ideas for their Black, White and a touch of Red winter wedding. I got to thinking and here is the inspiration board I came up with. I’ll be helping with decor at this shindig so stay tuned for photos in the new year! Oh and by the way- Kyle is a wicked DJ, so check him out HERE.

A Wedding Song Surprise from the Groom

From Lynzie Kent: I was invited to sing at Rob and Jessy’s wedding by the groom, Rob, as a gift to Jessy. She has been a fan for a long time and is one of my most active youtube commenters (is that a word?). Of course I wanted to do it! I LOVE surprising people. She was so adorable and overjoyed by the romantic gesture from her groom. I sang some of her favourite youtube covers of mine, one of my new original songs “Pancakes in Bed” and a version of Bruno Mars’ Just the way you are as their first dance!

Here is what the couple had to say!
From the Groom:
“I first emailed Lynzie at the beginning of July to see if she would be able to come perform for my fiancé on our wedding day. This was going to be a surprise for Jessy. She emailed back the next day saying she would love to be part of this. Over the next couple months Lynzie was more than accommodating to all my requests, even date and time changes. Lynzie did a special cover of our first dance song and altered it so it was a custom song for us. By doing this she made Jessy’s day all the more special. Meeting Lynzie and hearing her sing our song is still all Jessy talk’s about “Lynzie Kent was at my wedding” with a big smile. Lynzie showed up early, stayed hidden till it was time to come out and was totally prepared for the show. Everyone there loved her. She is a great performer and it was a pleasure to have her at our wedding. Anyone looking for a great artist should call Lynzie- nothing but great things to say about her.” -Robert Henry

From the Bride:
“I have been a big fan of Lynzie Kent since I was introduced to her cover Wild Horses a couple years ago. I listened to her religiously everyday, especially when I realized, there were more covers- lots of them! I got married on August twenty seventh. My husband was sneaky and romantic enough to pull off having Lynzie show up after dinner to perform our first dance song. Then, to hear that she customized our song for us! It was such an amazing moment for me! I describe it to people as having their Rihanna or Brittany show up to sing at their wedding. I have been swooning over this voice for so long and now I was lucky enough to have her right in front of me with everyone I love. I don’t think I cried more that entire day then when I saw her come out to do her thing!! She was so personable, so beautiful and could not have done a better job than what she delivered. I am so honoured that she came out to make my already perfect day surpass perfection for me. She is a lovely girl, with a lovely voice and such a shining star. Thank you again Lynzie, you made my wedding day one I will never forget! Well, I guess my loving husband helped too ;) ”- Jessy Henry

A Surprise Flash Mob- Toronto Hunt Club Wedding

Suzan (The Bride) asked Electric Blonde to write, produce and perform a flash mob dedicated to her husband at their intimate wedding at The Toronto Hunt Club. The 10 person mob was intended to be an absolute surprise and it went off without a hitch! Our performers, dressed as servers and management, entered the room one by one to surprise the groom and guests. Unfortunately the end of the video is missing but by the finale (Celebration) the guests and bridal party were up and dancing with our performers.

Here is what Suzan had to say: “Lynzie, honestly, I am speechless! Amazing energy and talent. It took our breath away! We have started recommending you to our friends already”.

Many Thanks to Suzan, all the performers and our on site coordinator, Lisa!

Gaga goes to the Dogs!

This past weekend Electric Blonde Entertainment’s Lady Gaga look-a-like, Gaga Gorgeous, had the opportunity to stop by Woofstock. It was an absolute blast, over 30,000 people and many more cute little puppies! Lady Gaga was helping Barnsdale Farms raise money for Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind and Dog Rescue charities. Gaga gorgeous said it was an absolute blast posing with such obediant pups for a good cause. Thanks to Jamie Arfin and everyone at Woofstock for involving EBE in such a unique festival!

The Bohemian Kabaret

Lynzie Kent of Electric Blonde recently had the opportunity to work with Joan Bendon of Flip Events on “The Bohemian Kabaret”. The show was performed at the new Bell TIFF Lightbox venue on King Street in downtown Toronto. Lynzie was so pleased and excited to work with such a great and talented cast including dancers Christina Marshall, Kalie Hunter, Allison Herder, Sarah Butler and Steph Rutherford. The show was choreographed by Stelio Calagias of Metro Movement and was musically directed by the amazingly talented Steve Hunter. Lynzie sang lead alongside Will Lamond (who she’ll be working with again on May 1st) and Brad Cormier as Cher- check him out at Zippers in Toronto! Check out the pictures and video below for a laugh and a peak into what happened behind the scenes at “The Bohemian Cabaret”.
